Grace Lakes in the rain and dense fog was so utterly unappealing, we drove right through the thick weather for a dry and warm snow hike without our snowshoes. The facilities and gate here are closed, but you can park on the substantial Highway-2 shoulder, for a beautiful river walk in any season. This one's great for kids and dogs and when you just want to get out on the snow.

Beautiful fall colors, wet, cool. Had to use trekking poles to maneuver the stepping stones over the standing water on the bridge surface. Enjoy the You Tube link.

Nice short hike right outside of Leavenworth. Would be great for kids or if you just want to get out near the river for a picnic and dip your toes in the icy water.

Nice little walk to take the 6.5 & 3 year old boys for an 'adventure'. Kid & Stroller friendly for about the first half, but be aware of the tripping hazards & the second stream crossing will be difficult to get the stroller across; I saw that most groups stopped here or left the stroller behind. Do NOT allow the kiddos to enter the Wenatchee River! See the memorial for the 2 teens lost to the river further beyond the second stream crossing. It was refreshing to look into the small cave at the end of the maintained trail on a warmer day, but I had to remind the older boy that we didn't have the safety gear, nor experience to explore it any more than looking in for a moment.

Reached the trailhead after noon. Busy, but not crowded as expected. Followed the trail until reaching some rocks, where only a narrow path continued. No issues with the trail, just two small stream crossings that required a little bit of balancing (if you didn't want to get wet feet).
