Railroad Bridge Park is part of the Olympic Discovery Trail. In 1992 volunteers replaced the railroad ties and planked the deck of the almost 100 year old former railroad bridge. The finished product is now a beautiful 600 foot bridge crossing the Dungeness River providing a bike and pedestrian path as part of the Olympic Discovery Trail.The Dungeness River Audubon Center is located here, but it is closed on Sunday and Monday so we were unable to visit it. At the east end of the bridge there is a ramp access for bicyclists and handicapped people. We spent a pleasant 2 hours exploring the area before returning home.
