Hiking Powerlink

If you're interested in a more forested alternative to the last 0.6 mile to East Tiger when coming from the forest service road, consider taking the Powerlink trail.

At the junction of Cross Over Road and 5500 Road, take 5550 Road toward the East Tiger summit. Walk through an open gate and pass the first branch on the left — a short spur to a viewpoint with picnic tables — and continue to the second branch, where you turn left onto the Powerlink Trail all the way to the summit.

This trail is uphill-only for bikes, but hikers may travel in either direction, though the trail is narrow, so hikers should yield to oncoming bikers.

WTA Pro Tip: Save a copy of our directions before you leave! App-based driving directions aren't always accurate and data connections may be unreliable as you drive to the trailhead.

Getting There

The trail itself has no trailhead, but the closest trailhead is probably the Tiger Summit trailhead.

From Seattle: From I-90, take exit 25 and head south on SR 18. After the sign for Tiger Summit and Tiger Mountain State Forest, turn right (west) onto the service road. Drive 0.3 mile and turn right into the large paved parking lot. If it's full, an overflow parking area is available on the opposite side of the service road.
