Follow the remnants of an old logging road to the end, then head up the southwest ridge of Mt. Wow toward Peak 5614. Continue climbing the steep forested ridge until you encounter the park boundary and a climber's "trail." The trail ascends the narrow southwest ridge of Mount Wow, with very steep slopes to the west, attention-grabbing cliffs to the east, and a few easy climbing moves along the way. The trail fades away at 5,100 feet.
Past 5,100 feet, the trail becomes class 2 or 3 climbing, with no clear trail to the summit.

Getting There
About 3 miles west of the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, head north on FR 59, the road to Glacier View. At just under 3 miles, reach Goat Creek Road, a spur road to the right of the main road. Turn onto Goat Creek Road and stay on it for about 1.5 miles. Here, a landslide and a large rock block further access, but you're almost to the trail anyway. Park where you can.
