Hiking Lodgepole Campground

This beautiful and recently-renovated USFS campground offers some great campsites and a nice 0.75-mile loop road to explore while traversing Highway 410 between Mount Rainier National Park and Naches.

The campground has 34 camp sites along a paved loop road. There is a scenic picnic area with 5 general parking spots and 1 ADA parking spot and two picnic tables under shady conifers.

The campground has 4 vault toilets, all of which are ADA-accessible with paved pathways leading to them. There is a handpump well with drinking water available across from the information kiosk.

The level, paved loop road which navigates the campground is wheelchair-friendly and is in excellent condition. There’s a bit of a short climb up the road past campsite 34.

The campground is nestled along the banks of the American River. River access is around campsite 24 and follows the river to the Highway 420 overpass. Please be mindful of campsites while you’re visiting the area.

WTA Pro Tip: Visit in early-mid October to see the magnificent western larch needles turn gold.
