A hiker on another hike mentioned Hidden Lake would be one we'd like. Well she was right. It's a short 2 mile RT hike in the cool of the shaded forest on an otherwise very hot day. There's barely EG, 260'. The trail is in great condition, no roots or rocks to speak of. The lake is quiet and beautiful with several areas to hang out along the shore. To go farther around the lake, you have to cross an assortment of logs that look a little sketchy over the creek that is the outfall for the lake. We didn't try it as we found a nice spot to sit and have a snack without crossing it. This was our backup hike when we found the heat too much at Icicle Ridge. It was heading toward 88 degrees so we bailed about half way. So off we went to find Hidden Lake. It's very close to Lake Wenatchee State Park but very quiet and serene. If you just want to stretch your legs and have a little time, it's not too far off Hwy 2 at Coles Corner.

Hiked into hidden lake from the turn around spot at camp zanika. Road was passable to the trail head but opted to walk the mile and a half extra enjoying the clear crisp day. Roughly 18” of snow on the ground at the trail head. And though the trail all the way to the lake was smashed down and easy to navigate I had my snow shoes with me just in case I needed them. Walked with out them all the way to the lake. Beautiful day and the lake is frozen over. There was a couple of dummies attempting to walk out on the ice. Temp this day at the lake was about 40°F didn’t stick around to see if they made it off the ice. Decided that I would take the old trail down. Strapped in my snowshoes and blazed a trail down to the Glacier view camp ground at Lk. Wenatchee. And walked out to the truck from there. Great loop hike with beautiful views and scenery.

Hiked with about 10 in party including kids from 6th grade to kindergarten age. Trail is short to Lake, going around and back is fun enough. Lots of rock and roots to trip if you rush. Over all a great family or Cubscouting hike.

WARNING: The trail to Hidden Lake is described as ADA accessible for the first half mile. Unfortunately, there is now a very large log across the trail no more than 100 yards from the trailhead. A short detour leads around this log but even this requires stepping over a smaller log and passing between closely spaced stumps and rocks. This barrier blocks access to the trail for wheelchairs and for anyone unable negotiate a tight trail or step or climb over a knee-high obstacle. Several other large logs have fallen over the trail farther along, as well. Sadly, the trail is no longer ADA accessible.
