It was very nice, perfect weather.  Gillette Lake was very good, lots of hike in campsite.  Lots of people with their dogs.

Not too hard, or tricky, but a little bit of up and down.

I've hiked this trail several times, usually I don't go past Gillette Lake.  Today, I decided to try the route suggested here, going past the lake until the bridge over Greenleaf Creek.  I thought about going past that, but I got a late afternoon start, so decided I'd better leave it for another day.

Conditions were really pleasant, it was overcast and windy when I left for the hike, but the wind died down and the sun came out while I was on the trail.  Trail in excellent condition, and I really only encountered bugs as I came out in the evening.

It's a very rocky trail, as others have said.  Other than that, it's a nice, relaxing hike.

Easy to follow trail but a bit rocky at times so plan footwear accordingly. Hiked to the intersection with Two Chiefs Trail. Saw a few other people hiking/trail running while we were out. Enjoyed seeing a variety of mushrooms and great fall colors.

Great trail! We got to the trailhead with about 6-7 other cars around so I expected to see a lot of people but we only ran into three groups the whole trip. Most of the trail is in clear cut so make sure to bring a hat. We hiked up about 3.3 miles to a logging road about 100 yards past the second lake. There is a lookout about a quarter mile before the first lake, turn left at the trail marker(pictured) and go up to the knuckle(pictured) to your left. There are some really good views  there. The trail itself as a lot of rocks sticking out so I recommend bringing hiking specific shoes or trail runners. If you bring vans or nikes you probably wouldn’t have a good time. Overall it was a really good trail.
