Enjoyed starting the new year on the NW lower/side of Tiger. I continue to be grateful for crew and community folks who have cleared the trails. Almost this entire route was clear. It was fun piecing together these various trails. I lost the trail briefly on the NW side of Lake Tradition due to downed trails blocking the trail. I ended up down on the banks of the lake but it wasn't too difficult to bushwhack back up and find the trail on the other side of the blockage.

Part of a west tiger trail run this morning. Many, many blowdowns on Brink and Adventure trail, by far the slowest mile of my loop. Lost the trail completely amidst jackstraw in a few places. Caution advised until someone is able to come through here with a saw!
Section Line, K3, and TMT north were in much better shape, still a few downed trees to skirt but largely easy going.

First time out this area since the big storm. We didn't have it so bad in the South Sound away from the trees. We arrived at the E Sunset TH and were amazed at the damage. The poor people living at the base of the mountain! At least two residents were displaced. One person was packing belongings into a U-Haul. The back end of the lot was closed off and the trailhead was moved. Small trees were tagged with pink ribbons to protect them and direct traffic.
We headed up to Tradition Plateau, the direct route and had to duck under and skirt around several trees from the start. A few people heading toward the high school looked to be having more trouble in the first 500 feet. There were a couple trees on the way to the top of the hill, but not impassable.
Wetlands had about 20 obstacles which could turn back those not wanting to climb, traverse, or jump down from them. I had read Adventure was a mess, but for the first 1000 feet, it seemed fine. But, then, it was truly an obstacle course. Definitely not good for running. Quite a few scoots under trees and having to adjust for the packs hitting.
Maintained Section Line was decent, with 5 easily stepped-over or through areas. Unmaintained was even better thanks to someone with cutting tools. Not much debris either along this stretch. We got up to RR Grade then over to the WT3 trail, again with no obstacles. I wanted to go back down Section Line to test traction, so we headed back that way. All of that trail was runnable with decent traction and low obscurity, despite the debris on the lower half.

Started at High Point. Nook trail was okay, handful of blow downs. Section line from Nook to Poo Poo point was similar. Poo Poo Point trail up to One View trail was also okay, but had a few larger blow downs. There is a giant series of blow downs at the point where Poo Poo, One View and RR Grade trails meet up. I didn’t go further up hill from there. On the way back I took the high school trail to adventure trail to the PSE access road back to the TH. Adventure trail is a total nightmare of blow downs

This is a nice forested loop hike on Tiger Mountain that's perfect for a cloudy or rainy day.
We usually start at the small parking lot off of 2nd avenue just south of the high school. When high school's in session however these spots are always filled. They said we started at the East Sunset parking area that's just south of I-90.
We looked up the Adventure Trail and Section Line to the Talus Caves and then down the Nook Trail to Tradition Lake tr and then Big Tree Trail.
