Overall a pleasant trail and easy going to the kiln.

Worth going to the shore loop trail. Past the kiln there are a few muddy sections and tricky spots to navigate past the mud and puddles. Lots of parking at 10 am.

Great hike for kids! Trail in great condition

Still pretty muddy towards the end of the hike to the kiln, but not terrible.  Definitely go past the kiln and do the shore loop down by the river, highly recommended!  And...  go early in the morning!  I was the 4th car in the parking lot at 8 am, by noon when leaving there were over 40 cars in the lot, several were double parked, blocking other cars in.  Don't be that person!

The trail is mostly obstacle and mud free except for a few places.  There were only a couple of obstacles and they were easy to get around.   There is mud in a few places, but there are branches and pieces of wood to help mitigate them.  

I extended the hike to the river.

I only encountered bugs in one section and they weren’t too bad. 

There is a portable toilet at the trailhead.

Picked up some forgotten hiking poles. Tell me the brand and color in a comment and we can figure out a return arrangement.

Trail was in great condition. Nice forest walk with the dog and toddler.
