The Enchantments — Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023

-left Seattle at 3am
-day hiked roughly 10 hours total @ roughly 28 min mile splits, 5300 feet gain 7000 feet loss
-2 cars one at each trailhead, there is also a shuttle system in place for those looking for a solo day route.. also Uber
-service at snow lake TH but not at colchuck TH
-road to colchuck trailhead is rough but not impassible I took my sedan up and saw plenty of others
-asgaard will kick your ass
-lots of mountain goats and grouse
-tons of smoke and hot weather hazards AQI was high 190s in Leavenworth by 3 after we finished
-tons of places to filter water, I lasted off only 3.5
-extra layer for asgaard in the morning it was chillyyyyy then super hot on our down climb around mid day

Overall I understand why this hike is permitted… some of the absolute best views I’ve seen in Washington yet and it was Smokey as hell
