Fantastic hike on a very well maintained trail. This hike is especially great if you want a hike where you are in the shade 90% or more of the time for those hot days. Arrived at the trailhead a bit before 8:30 and there were spots in the lot. On the way back down we encountered many people and lots of dogs. Took us around 3 he 15 mins of activos hiking time at a moderate pace with a dog. Woman was passing out lost dog flyers when we arrived back at the lot so be on the lookout for the dog if you hike soon.

Thanks for the good report, esp. about weekend crowds.
About the lost dog, I'd say:
Humans with Dogs, Please leash your dogs. Better for the critters and doggy and you don't want to be handing out flyers too, do you? It is the rule, as well, for aforementioned reasons.
And if you say your dog always stays with you, we found a lost dog on Mailbox. That human said same thing about his doggy. Until one day she caught a certain scent and went for it.
