Trip Report

Middle Fork Snoqualmie River — Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Looking at Garfield Mountain from the Middle Fork Trail.

Hiked from the Middle Fork Trailhead to Dingford Creek. The trail is snow free, but very wet. There are lots of mini stream crossings to deal with as well as some sections of standing water on the trail. I managed to keep my feet dry while wearing trail runners so it's not too bad.

Instead of going out the way I came, I decided to hike back along the road that connects the Middle Fork Campground to the Dingford Creek Trailhead. The road has lots of potholes but appears to be in good condition otherwise, and is currently snow free.

The snow level appeared to be between 1500 and 2000 feet. The forecast for the Middle Fork Valley is calling for some snow in the next couple days, so that may drop to below 1000 feet.

Saw a few people on the trail, including some volunteers with Mountains to Sound Greenway. Thank you for keeping these trails open for all travelers!

Cars at Dingford Creek Trailhead.
Picture of Russian Butte(?) I snapped after I drove away from the trailhead. Sunset was gorgeous.
