I don't recall what time we started hiking, but we arrived at Monte Cristo around 12:30pm. Weather was excellent, sunny and in the low 60s. The trail was damp in many/most places, but never muddy or slippery, and generally in fine condition. The fall colors were beautiful, and we stopped to take many pictures. There was a work party along many parts of the trail and it was obvious they had just cut logs that had been blocking the trail earlier when we came to them. We were among a handful of other small (2-6) person groups we saw there or on the trail that day. A great day. I'd definitely do this hike again.
