Snow with bare patches starting the last mile. Trail is entirely snow covered the last 1/2 mile and melting quickly! Didn't need snowshoes - the snowpack is really well consolidated, with very little postholing even on a hot afternoon. Also didn't need micro spikes. Since it's been so hot recently with warm nights, the top 1-2" of the snowpack is a nice corn consistency, giving nice traction. The hut has plenty of water in the rain barrels. Road 1 was in great condition, with only a few potholes.
