Drove up Old Cascade Highway to the point where it stops by the bicycle bridge and hiked up the road from there. Encountered a small black bear along the road while driving up. Hiking along the road doesn't offer to many views or anything but we had just finished another hike so we took the easy route. Turned down the gravel road where it comes to an intersection for the trail head of Wellington. It was an interesting sight, I had never been here before nor had I heard of it until a week ago. Walked down to the end of the snow shelter reading the signs along the way then turned back.
