Hiked to the Chiwawa River basin on Memorial Day weekend. The trail is in good shape. Intermittent snow starts to appear shortly after the Red Mountain trail junction and once you reach the basin everything is still covered with a couple feet of snow. Lots of bluebells and some glacier lilies but not much happening in the meadows yet. Saw deer, grouse and porcupine but did not see any other hikers.

Thanks for the info! Don't see a lot of reports from there, but looks like a great valley to visit.
