This was my first time in this trail. I often hike the trails in ONP. It was nice to hike this trail which was off of most people’s radar. As other posters have commented, the trail is in the steeper side and it is a single-file trail. But the hike through the forest is peaceful and lovely. Also, the trail bed is mostly dirt and pine needles instead of gravel so there is good traction heading downhill. I could tell that the trail had been recently maintained. My thanks to the trail maintainers. There a few wildflowers but nothing compared to the trails in the Hurricane Ridge area. The weather was a little cloudy and there was some smoke haze in the area so the views were not as good as they could have been. After we arrived at the lookout platform a family arrived via road in their 4x4. So be advised that there is road access to the top if you have the right vehicle.
