After a day work party brushing out a small piece of the Boundary trail on the opposite slope yesterday, I treated myself to Norway Pass. Black biting flies very annoying, so glad I wore my long sleeved trail work shirt and only had to keep slapping my bare legs. Trail is brushy but manageable. No alder choking the trail, only masses of flowers (such an impediment 😏). Supposed to be a 4-mile round trip but I clocked 6 on Strava. It certainly felt longer than 4 miles. Great views of Adams and Rainier, and ends with the jaw dropping view of MSH and Spirit lake with its “snowdrift-like” log jam of now 45yo downed big trees. Great place to sit and stare. Lots of wild strawberries if you don’t mind stooping to pick. Today’s WTA crew were out brushing independence ridge. Note: it’s very easy to miss a the detour through Cispus center on the way out to get to FS23, as FS25 has a bridge out. Learned this the hard way.
