Spruce Railroad Trail by coconutcurry

Parking lot was about a third full when we arrived at 1:30. I would describe this hike as a comfortable hike with some seriously stunning views of Lake Crescent. The main trail itself is paved and very well maintained, but the trail down to the Devil's Punchbowl (about 1.5 miles in, pathing you around the Spruce Railroad Tunnel) is a little rugged. That said, don't let that stop you from taking a side trek if you're able to--the area is gorgeous! The tunnel is slightly spooky but awesome too, so consider experiencing both!

I marked the bug situation as not too bad, but it's in between not too bad and an annoyance. No bites! but there were a lot of small, flying bugs that made stopping to read the poems along the trail slightly unpleasant.
