Hiked to Maple Grove today from the S. end trailhead. Lovely trail, as always. Downed trees referenced in previous trip reports have been cleared. Talked to Forest Service crew lead who said that he understood a crew had also sawn a round out of the huge downed tree about 4 miles in from the N. end trailhead approaching Noisy Creek, but I couldn't verify that.
Anderson Creek was flowing pretty strongly today. I'm 5'9" and the water came to about 4" above my knee but with poles and wading booties it was doable. Seemed like a better choice than butt-scooting the nearby log. One other older couple arriving at the same time as us turned around rather than cross. We saw not a soul to the north of the crossing and only encountered one other party to the south of the creek. If you are trying to cross the creek after significant rain or on a warm day when the snowmelt is a contributor, a ford could be dicey. It was cool and dry today.
