Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Starting out 2025 with one of my local favorite hikes!

Hardpacked snow covering the entire trail after ~1 mile. Spikes are a necessity; with the persistent incline the whole way poles will not cut it.

Highly recommend checking the NW Avalanche Center forecast, because this trail does cross some exposed slopes that have the potential to slide. Today we saw little indication of snow movement, but that could change later in the season.

The trail is shaded almost the whole way. I wished I brought an extra layer for the top because it was very cold when we weren't moving.

Parking lot was less than half full at 11am. The trailhead bathroom was open and stocked. The road to the parking area was snow-free and minimally potholed. A Sno-Parks pass is required.

Many grey jays at the top were disappointed that we refused to leave anything for them.
