Road to Trailhead: Any car with good tires can make it - road is narrow but passable - there are some deep potholes but can be easily avoided. There was a little bit of slush on the road right before the trailhead parking. We made it up just fine in my Toyota Prius if that helps ease your anxiety.
Trail Conditions: Intermittent snow, but nothing serious yet - we made it just fine hiking in boots and poles. The bridge over the river was a bit icy. Winter wonderland right now with the snow and moss and big trees. There are a few trees down on the trail, one that is big enough that you will have to climb over.
Beautiful Winter Day with Mt Baring, It was so fun hearing the rockfall and avalanche off the mountain once you get to the lake.
