Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast
Miller Peninsula-Thompson Spit by Alex Pat

Wanted to avoid the heat and the haze as much as possible with my husky. So I chose to hike here. Beautiful forest especially the trail that heads to the beach. Seeing the spit is a must if you come here imo (assuming tide levels are low enough). Great view of protection island. Way too hazy to see Mount Baker. Could see the San Juan’s. I discovered a new creature I had never seen before during low tide which is the Gumboot Chiton (look at photos). Well maintained easy trails that are perfect for mountain biking. Not too populated. I had the spit all to myself. Worth a visit if the mountains aren’t a great option that day.
