The washboard gravel road was rough and limited travel speed but was manageable by any vehicle. Normally, I don't complain about bugs but there were literal clouds of them on stretches of this trail. If they weren't biting, they were flying into every orifice of my face. If you have a beekeeper hat lying around this is the trail for it.
Also I would recommend wearing long pants as the trail is slightly over grown by prickly plants.
Other than that, this was a great trail. Spotted a deer and coyote interaction within the first minute of hiking! Lots of waterfowl on the river. Views were amazing and the sand dunes feel other worldly.
