This was a great Labor Day weekend hike with kids. We saw a few wildflowers, a chipmunk, and a black bear (!) about forty yards away from the trail along the southern leg of the loop. Very beautiful views of Rainier. It was definitely on the tougher side for our group, which included kids and adults not used to hiking, probably due in part to the altitude. A spectacular way to get the Rainier hike experience without dealing with timed entry reservations. It was the perfect choice for us.
