It’s our last full day in the islands and we made the most of it with a 9 mile hike. We started at the top of Mount Constitution, taking the steep trail from the parking lot towards Twin Lakes. It’s quite steep and rocky for the first half mile or so. I was glad to have boots and a hiking pole. Before we got to Twin Lakes we startled a pair of vultures that were eating a dead deer just off the trail. They headed up to the treetops until we passed. We worked our way to Mountain Lake and had lunch in the sun, then continued on toward Cascade Creek and Cascade Falls. There were a number of places for our dog to get water along the way. When we finally made it to Cascade Lake, we headed left and looped the lake, ending with an ice cream cone at the beach. 10/10.
