This is a great workout/training hike, and not much visited so you're likely to find solitude there. I saw nobody else today.
For the first 5 miles, the trail was bare but with quite a few blowdowns not cleared yet. Easy enough to duck under them with my small day pack but these gymnastics definitely added to the challenge of the hike.
It got pretty snowy for the last mile to the lakes. I didn't need spikes but relied on navigation several times. There were no footsteps ahead of me to follow where the route was unclear.
Flowers are starting to get good. I took photos of probably a dozen species that I don't have on https://hikingtahoma.com/Wildflowers.html yet.
