Got out for a late afternoon hike up Little Huck, and it was superb! Only saw 3 other parties and they were all headed down as I headed up.
Trail is in great shape thanks to a crew who took out some big logs, and some of the hucks are ripe—not a bumper crop by any means, but a tasty treat along the way. The wildflowers up high were going, and it was a beautiful day to be up looking at all the volcanoes. This was my first time doing this hike, and definitely not my last!
Word to the wise, as with a lot of old fire lookout hikes, there is a TON of glass at the top, so just something to be mindful of if you bring your dogs or want to sit on the ground.
