Toutle Trail, Toutle Trail - Kalama Horse Camp to Red Rock Pass — Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020

Hiked the toutle trail Saturday 10/31/20 from kalama ski trail to red rock pass. Beautiful area of trail. The trail follows the kalama river. Most of the hike is high above the valley on a ridge. There were a couple of small stream crossings that were not hard to cross. I believe this is called section one of toutle 238. There is a beautiful hike in campspot on the kalama river across from mcbride lake. Gradual ascent or descent depending on which way you are going. Beautiful fall colors and old growth trees. This trail is not handicap accessible and there are steep drop offs on this trail so I would not recommend for young children. If you go in October/ November be aware there are hunters in the area. Always remember pack it in, pack it out. Leave no trace and leave the trails better than you found them.
