Trip Report

Ring Hill Forest — Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Route I took in green, with obstacle and a trash bin marked in blue

Summary: Quiet local park with 2 mi of trails in excellent condition.

Parking: There's enough room for about 3 cars. I was the only one there, in the middle of a rain-free Saturday afternoon.

Trail: Tread is in excellent condition (thank you WTA volunteers!), with the ground very firm throughout despite all the recent rain (see annotated map for the route I took). At this time of year, there are a lot of fallen leaves covering the trail. Note that there was a fallen tree on the Snoqualmie Valley Loop (see annotated map) - certainly negotiable, but I would probably skip the loop next time to avoid it.

Payoff: Not very scenic, but the trails roll and twist, exactly what I was looking for in my first trail run ever.

Social distancing: Encountered zero people! So relaxing.

As good as the view gets! (Snoqualmie Viewpoint)
