This is a really beautiful hike!
Driving: I missed the road turnoff initially for #5701, but I knew to turn around when the road I was on was gravel, as I knew the road to the trail was all paved. Road #5701 comes up on the left.
Road Conditions: Use caution and go slow! The forest road is entirely paved, but there are a lot of potholes and washed out spots. The road is fairly narrow, and it can be tricky to swerve around these, while avoiding oncoming traffic. I have a Honda Fit, which has very low clearance, so I did take it extra slow. Thankfully, there are a number of pullout spots so that faster traffic can pass.
Parking: I parked at the pull-out on the right, across from the sign for Trail # 130. There were about 5 other cars in that pull-out.
Hiking: I felt very comfortable doing this hike alone. The trail is very easy to see and follow. I hiked a total of 10 miles, starting at the extra 3 mile loop from #130 to the main trailhead. There are a lot of switchbacks, but beautiful, wooded, and only passed 5 other small groups, of 2 people each.
At the main trailhead. I could see from the trail that there were a lot of cars, probably at least 30 or so, but it was a Saturday, and beautiful weather. I did the next 2 miles from the main trailhead to Siouxon Falls. I passed many more people. There were probably about 10 tents at various campsites, and probably about 20 or so people on the trail, but nearly everyone had masks and was respectful of distancing. The trail is not especially wide, but there was enough room for me to move aside.
I only decided to go 2 miles after the main trailhead, because I knew that I had 5 yet to go back. It was beautiful and nice to have the first (and last) 3 miles alone, so that's an option if the main trail is too busy, however, you won't pass waterfalls until you get past the main trailhead. Next time, I'd like to start at the main trailhead, so that I can get further and see more of the falls. The campsites look beautiful, especially along the creek, and I would definitely like to get back!
