A lot of mistakes for this first time climbing Mt. Si, but a worthwhile view nonetheless.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic this hike was not the one to choose, I probably passed by 50 people on this hike and on switchbacks there is no way to avoid coming into arms-length contact with heavily breathing hikers.
Nonetheless the conditions today were good - it took me a few minutes to luck out in getting a parking spot. Snow began not too far from the rocky lunch spot and near the top was pounded into ice by the heavy foot traffic - lots of people slipping both ways. The scramble on the top of the haystack was super sketchy with mixed conditions of snow above cliffs. I would not do the scramble again in the winter.
