Good little hike with some good hills so we felt like we worked out a bit. Amazing views from the top, but lots of clouds also fog the farther up we went. It was a lightly rainy day, so on a clear day would have seen more of the view, but there is something wonderful and very Northwest, and very Island about a nice gently raining day out in the woods. Just a couple of muddy patches that gave us a little trouble, but most of the trail was wet but in good shape. Lots of blowdown from that windstorm we had in January, which was interesting to see, but not obstructing the trails (certainly several of the downed trees and large branches had been cut and cleared away. Only saw 4 other people on the trail, most with masks, and no dogs. Restrooms (pit) at main parking lot open and clean, plenty of T paper and sanitizer. Would recommend this short hike, will do again.
This was my second time up Young Hill. it was beautiful weather and the views at the top were impressive.
my only problem was I got turned around at the top and went on another trail unknowingly. it wasn't marked and I got way off course when I made it down to the road. My suggestion is download the maps and remember which way you went up. On the bright side, I got extra running time in.

Started out from the large (and mostly empty) parking lot at English Camp (though there's also roadside parking on West Valley Rd if you want to cut off a few minutes). Followed a wide trail up to a viewpoint with a panorama sign; the main viewpoint was a few minutes further up along the trail. Checked out the cemetery with its large oak trees on the way down, and had a quick look at English Camp back at the trailhead (mostly empty, locked historical buildings, and interpretive signs).
