This is a really cool hike that has a lot of hard to find information about it. A couple of clarifications.
We’re visiting Yakima and had a couple of dry days and wanted to explore. I found this hike on a list called Hikes 30 Minutes from Yakima — Washington Trails Association. It is 45-50 minutes from Yakima, not 30.
Second of all, this TH has a huge parking lot but is weirdly hard to find. Here’s my stab at helping others find it more easily than we did. For your maps, use “Ahtanum Meadows Campground”. That gets you almost there on N Fork Rd. Once you see Ahtanum Meadows Campground on your left – there are like, at least 3 sections – keep going, you will pass Foundation Creek Road on your right, then keep going another ¼ mile, you will come across a large sign that says White Ridge Trailhead. Park right by the gate entrance to the TH parking lot, look for the sign that says White Ridge Trailhead across N Fork Rd from the parking. The toilets are spectacular!
The Ridge Trail is well trodden and easy to follow. It is beautiful with great colors and small and large pine needle carpet. Lots of hunters around – wear orange! We saw only one other person on the trail all day though. You can find a map here - Ahtanum State Forest, Yakima, WA-2023.pages
There is another trail that starts from the Ahtanum Meadows Campground itself - by the middle toilet, it goes east above N Fork Road up to a jeep road up top. It is also beautiful and easy to find.

Trail was hot but very beautiful with the blooming wildflowers. It was well maintained and easy to follow. Trail begins just outside the entrance to the parking lot (took us a little bit to find). We made it about half a mile in and encountered a rattlesnake, so we turned back as we had children and didn’t want to take a chance on running into any more. All and all a very nice trail in a beautiful location.

Great loop hike! AllTrails tracked 10.5 miles with 2,000 ft elevation gain. The larches were showing great color, but might be at peak in a week. Most of the hike is in the shade but with several great views.
Easy access trailhead with vault toilet and plenty of parking.
