Little hidden gem in the area. If you're looking for a fun afternoon or catching the sunset/sunrise, this would be great for you! Not really a hike but the views are awesome and we had a lot of fun reading the lore of the Native Americans and just admiring the scenery! Didn't run to any wildlife except Nats and grasshoppers, some people do say that rattlers are out there but we didn't see much! Also, it was completely empty when we went with no trash which is awesome!! There is a little graffiti up top but nothing too bad. It's a shame you can't rock climb it anymore but, it is a native American site. Overall, we had a great time and probably will do it again!

Driving from Yakima, we decided to stop at Twin Sisters Rock before pushing on to Palouse Falls. WTA proclaims the hike to this rock formation as a “leg stretcher,” and it’s exactly that. Yet, somehow it was still exhilarating. Undoubtedly, the sweeping, wide-open views of the Columbia River combined with the wind and sandy landscape made the 1-mile hike feel much grander. In the distance, we saw gates surrounding the land of a lucky homeowner. Honestly, I had heartfelt flashbacks to memories on the Irish coast as we stood beside the Twin Sisters, glancing along the Columbia Riverside.

I’d recommend throwing an extra layer on if you plan to walk around these rocks because it truly was quite windy! We were pretty amused by the Native legend surrounding the Twin Sisters, and overall fascinated by the quirky, admirable rocks.

Wonderful views! Sand dunes are relaxing and a good area for kids to play. The pillars could be difficult for some individuals to hike, and not child-friendly. On hands and knees climbing up the rocky trail up it. Lots of loose rock. Very windy!! Wind would blow me over when gusts picked up off the river. Wild flowers were in bloom. Small white flowers covered the hills. Some purple flowers by the lone tree on the hill, and a few yellow flowers up on the pillars.

Picked this trip on my way to Walla Walla because it was a nice short hike. I ended up spending a few hours walking around. Once at the top you can just keep walking to the open desert.

Lots of sagebrush but the trail path was pretty clear. Loose rocks in some areas but not too bad. BEAUTIFUL view of the Columbia River once you get to the top. And its only a short hike to get up there. Great for when your short on time and want to get outside.
