Twin falls trail was beautiful!! It was quite busy, due to the excellent weather (as well as being a weekend day). We had a lot of fun hiking by up to the views of the falls!! It was also quite fun to hangout by the water and maneuver amongst the rocks. All in all, twin falls was a great experience on this summer day!! 😎

Decided to do a shorter hike yesterday with my dog. We arrived to the trailhead at around 11 and got back around 1. The trail was pretty busy, even on a weekday, but there were still some spots left in the lot.

The trail itself was in good condition. There were a lot of social trails down to the river. It was a bit muddy/slippery with all the rain, but we didn’t run into any problems (aside from some dirty paws and shoes). The hike was fairly easygoing. One section involves a steep(er) climb, but it is short. There are two spots to see the waterfalls from - each one giving a different view of a different falls. The first one you come up on is a staircase down to a little viewing area. The second one - a wooden bridge - is further up. I would recommend going to both.

There weren’t very many bugs around, even without bug spray. It was a great hike overall and the falls were beautiful, especially after a bit of rain.

Even on a Tuesday morning the Twin Falls parking lot was completely full. We took the next exit to park at the Homestead Valley Trailhead and had no trouble at all finding a spot.

We were glad it worked out this way because it added more distance to our hike and made it much less crowded (we only passed one group and two bicyclists until we got to the waterfalls, after the waterfalls there were a lot of people who were hiking the typical Twin Falls trail). We hiked all the way to the Twin Falls parking lot then back to Homestead.

The falls are beautiful--love that there are two different viewpoints! And it is fun, though much more crowded to walk along the river at the bottom. It was nice to sit and have a snack right by the river.

Noise from the rush of cars on the 90 was loud for certain small stretches of the hike, but still had plenty of time to enjoy the sounds of nature--the Swainson's Thrush, rushing water, the wind.

I'd recommend starting at Homestead if you want a little longer of a hike (since its not too strenuous of a hike) and/or to avoid crowds!

This hike was a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors without being too strenuous. It’s a great beginner’s hike, with a steady incline that’s manageable even for young kids. Along the way, we paused frequently to take in the serene views of the forest, river, and occasional peek-a-boo glimpses of the falls through the trees.

There are several natural stopping points—benches, clearings, and viewpoints—making it ideal for families who want to go at a relaxed pace. The trail is well-marked and shaded, providing a comfortable environment even on warmer days.

The falls themselves are a beautiful payoff. We spent extra time at the main viewing platform enjoying the sight and sound of the cascading water.

Highlights:

Family-friendly with a gradual incline

Gorgeous views of waterfalls and forest

Opportunities to stop, rest, and enjoy nature

Dog-friendly (on leash)

Well-maintained trail with good signage
