Beautiful hike with my daughter! Trail was muddy but very passable, weather was flirting with snow but cleared as the morning went. Parking lot was filling up on 8am arrival, was overflowing when we left about 11am. 6 mile hike RT to both lakes, little up and down but not bad. Started to get very busy on our way back, LOTS of people and dogs - amazing how many were off leash. Get there early to avoid crowds and won't be long until the snow covers it all.

There are a few sections of road with deep potholes to negotiate (mainly just before and just after the split with the Mason Lake Rd) but most of it's in pretty good condition and any car will easily make it. I have a low front spoiler and it only scraped a bit once. The previously reported giant hole where the pavement ends has been filled.
