Our hike today and then after the hike we went up to white pass ski resort just to look at it i never been there before and then got good views of Mount Rainier. On hike heard a couple trees falls or limbs. Hopefully it wasn't a wild animal in the tree.. Couldn't do the last bit of the bridge there working on it. Ill post my recordings... also we made a big loop out of it. N we went threw a tunnel which the tunnel had a side walk n we walk bak to the truck

Will confirm that if you're looking for solitude in a park packed with visitors this very nice forest walk does the trick. Hiked from the Wonderland Trail trailhead just West of Box Canyon to Sylvia Falls for a round trip of 7 miles and saw only two other groups all day. The bridge crossing at Stevens Creek is just about a perfect lunch spot. Only a few bugs.

I’m sure it won’t surprise you to learn that Mount Rainier (like most other national parks) is PACKED this summer! If you’re a first-time visitor, I’ll leave it to you to decide whether you want to battle the crowds to get an up-close encounter with the Mountain (if you can even get a parking spot at some of the more popular spots in the park).
Since we are local and have seen the iconic vistas before, we decided to devote our time to exploring some less glamorous trails, like this stretch of the Wonderland heading west from Box Canyon. We arrived at 10:00am on Monday morning, and there were few cars in the parking lot. We only saw a few other hikers all day. It’s mostly just a lovely hike hike through quiet forest. The trail gets a little rough about a half-mile past Sylvia Falls, right around where we turned around. Bugs were obnoxious. Lots of ripe berries.

Note from the Stevens Creek Trail parking lot the TH may be a bit difficult to detect because there are several paved entries that just go to picnic areas. Look for a short brown steel post, on a dirt path, that is clearly missing a sign towards the east end of the parking lot.
The trail is very nice condition, serene, but there is one spot to be aware of. As others have reported over at least a couple years there is a landside area just a few minutes east of the Martha Falls destination. This landslide is loose sandy soil on a steep slope. The "trail" is a single track. It's a bit intimidating for a few minutes, but everyone just took their time with small steps keeping the CG low to cross it.
Thanks WTA Fireside host team for the recommendation post trail workday!
