This trail is paved and very accessible to introduce people not used to hiking to the beauty of the PNW. The punch bowl is not likely accessible to someone wheelchair bound but could be accessed with care for those who have limited mobility but can traverse some uphill dirt 😊 The tunnel is really cool!

Parking lot was about a third full when we arrived at 1:30. I would describe this hike as a comfortable hike with some seriously stunning views of Lake Crescent. The main trail itself is paved and very well maintained, but the trail down to the Devil's Punchbowl (about 1.5 miles in, pathing you around the Spruce Railroad Tunnel) is a little rugged. That said, don't let that stop you from taking a side trek if you're able to--the area is gorgeous! The tunnel is slightly spooky but awesome too, so consider experiencing both!
I marked the bug situation as not too bad, but it's in between not too bad and an annoyance. No bites! but there were a lot of small, flying bugs that made stopping to read the poems along the trail slightly unpleasant.

Arrived at the trailhead at about 10:30, and the parking lot was half-full. Took a long walk on the fully paved Spruce Railroad Trail. Lots of trilliums and smaller flowers. Plenty of violet-green swallows at the second tunnel.
Weather: mostly cloudy, good breeze by the lake, and every now and then the sun peeked out to say hi and give us a little warmth. A really good day for a hike!
