This is the most obscure way to climb Mt. Zion, since the trailhead's pretty far up a pretty rough forest road. You could drive it in a conventional car, but high clearance would definitely be better given the numerous deep potholes. If you search for "Snow Creek Trailhead" on Google Maps, you'll get there. The trailhead's not very obvious when you pass it. Look for some plastic ribbons on a tree on the right, and the trail sign tucked back in the woods. There's no pull-out right there, but about 75 feet farther up the road on the left there's space for a car or two.
I'm not sure there's a good reason to go this way, but I tried it because I'd already been up Zion the other two ways: From the main Zion trailhead, and via the Deadfall Trail.
The trail was in surprisingly good condition. It's quite steep, but it clearly had been logged out recently and there were no obstructions.
Note that the views from the top of Zion aren't very good, because trees obstruct the view. The better views are about a quarter to a half mile before you reach the top, along the ridge. There are a couple of spurs to the left that lead to outcrops with good views to the south of Mt. Townsend.
The round trip distance by my GPS was 5.4 miles, which is .6 longer than WTA's mileage.

Trail was in great condition and was a rewarding hike! Signage was down at the intersection of Snow Creek and Deadfall and we proceeded about an extra mile down Deadfall before heading into a valley and turning back. Continued up the trail to the top (very steep) and jogged it back down before dark. Stuck the Mt Zion sign up higher so hopefully it’ll be better seen by others. Great weather and a great workout.

The hike description isn’t kidding about the trail being a steep climb, but the trail was really well maintained and easy to follow. The trees are mostly evergreen, so no real fall foliage. The miss and greenery were really pretty though. Sadly, as we climbed, we hit low lying clouds and hit the summit with cloud cover. No scenic view for us, but it was still an enjoyable and accessible hike. I’ll definitely do it again in hopefully clearer weather.
