Great day for a trip to Lopez Island. Morning fog lifted and it felt like summer.
TH vault toilet and trail are in great shape.
Lots of birds today and big fat seals. Sea lions on the outer island were attracting whale watching boats.

Lovely little hike! Parking lot is small but we got a spot at around 1pm on a Friday. Could’ve spent all day watching the seals!

Short and sweet! Love the new trail and facilities. Flowers and oystercatchers. Sea lions on the far island. Binoculars and zoom lens help. Breezy with a fast and loud current. Love this place ❤️

Nice, short, easy trail to include on your visits to Lopez Island. Clear signage at the start (plus a couple more places along the way) to guide your journey of just shy of a mile around this park. The trail starts on a wooden path then forks to take you to the coast line and then circle around to go back on the wooden path to the trailhead. Took the trail loop clockwise around.

Shark Reef is in good shape. The vault toilets are in great shape and so much better than the old ones.
We’re camping so it will be a week before I can get the photos off my camera. I got some good shots of seal moms nursing their babies and oyster catchers out on the rocks. Love this place!
