Wanted a change of scenery so opted for a nature walk here with the toddler and pup. Made a loop using Raven's Watch Trail. Trails in good condition, just some muddy parts here and there but all puddles avoidable. Other notes:

• Saw an owl perched up on a tree along Raven's Watch Trail! It just watched us as we quietly walked by.
• The viewpoint that is marked in the map is no longer a viewpoint and I don't think has been for quite a while (see second photo posted). Nice place to post-up for a snack break though since there is a bench.
• Parking is limited at trailhead (maybe only room for ~4 cars without blocking the entry to the trail) but only two other cars when we rolled in midday.
• Salmonberries starting to come in but nowhere near ripe yet. 

Quick walk around the Ring Hill Forest trails Thursday morning.  Parking is free though limited, basically a wide shoulder area on the east side of 232nd Ave, 5 maybe 6 if folks park in an orderly fashion, 2 to 3 if they don’t.  There are no restroom facilities available.  The trails are in very good condition with evidence of recent maintenance and some nice, recently redone little bridges.  There is one muddy area that is a bit slippy but nothing terrible.  One other item of note - we did not attempt the small southern loop listed on the trail map - there is no connecting trail from the north and the only access I could see was down somebody’s specifically marked private road and so skipped it.

Limited wildlife out this morning, a handful of little overwinter birds, a flock of robins and heard but did not see one Raven overhead, (oddly enough while walking along the “Raven’s Watch” trail.)  The lone “viewpoint” listed on the trail map has long since grown over with just a very marginal view through fairly heavy tree cover and then only in winter.  Keep an eye out for a few impressively large ancient crags and gigantic stumps from when the property was originally logged a hundred years ago.  A nice little quiet walk in the woods if you are in the area.

Hikef with small kids . Turned back after ~ mile after some folks in our group heard unknown/unidentified animal sounds coming from trail bushes

Arrived around 12:45 pm on a sunny Saturday and only one car was parked at the trailhead. There’s room for 4 or so vehicles if parked well. The trail was in good condition, very nice walk through the forest.

Maybe it’s just the fantastic weather today, but I LOVED this trail. Sometimes when I go for a trail run, I don’t want something that has a ton of mileage or a ton of elevation gain. This trail was perfect for just that!

Parking: Space for about 4 cars at the trailhead. Parking is a gravel pullout off the road. There were two other cars there when I arrived around noon in a sunny Saturday.

Bathrooms: There are no bathrooms at this trailhead.

Trail conditions: This network of trails is in great shape! The single track trail is smooth, free of mud and obstacles, and all the small bridges are in good condition.

The viewpoint on the Snoqualmie Valley Loop trail is only okay. You could see some snowy mountain peaks in the distance, but the view is mostly obstructed by trees. Still gorgeous though!

Overall a very pretty and peaceful trail.
