Three hours in line for a ferry is no way to start a hike. By the time I arrived in Sequim it was 6:15 PM and my planned hike was out. Instead I met up with my family and did this little hike which is part of the Olympic Discovery Trail. The bridge was interesting and the Dungeness River beautiful.

This is more of a walk from the parking area than a hike, but it is still nice. The trail is paved and does have ramps. The bridge goes over the Dungeness River and has views of the Olympic Mountains.
It is part of a much longer trail if you want to continue on.

The Railroad Bridge Park in Sequim is a great location to begin a hike on the Olympic Discovery Trail. Construction is underway at the Dungeness River Audubon Center. The facility is expanding to provide more exciting programs and more space for nature-focused learning. Anticipated opening of the new building is Fall 2021.

Great views of the river from the bridge and the newer trestle. You always seem to see hikers and bicyclists of all ages here.
