This was an easy urban hike with different points of interest. After viewing the lake, the trail takes you past a charming community garden that was highly decorated for fall. We detoured off the trail into Weowna Psrk since the trail through the park parallels the road- it was great to be one the forest for part of the hike. Looks like there are several ways to extend your walk or hike. The trail was well marked as are the potential add ons.

I don't go hiking much so I wanted to go for a good beginner hike for about an hour. It was a pretty gloomy trail. I was surprised that a good portion of the trail was just on the sidewalk right beside Bellevue traffic, which was a little annoying. The scenery to the side of the lake was nice, though, and there were spots to take good pictures in front of the lake. It was pretty level overall and easy to walk through, the terrain was very flat.

Super quick walk along the Lake Hills Greenbelt and Phantom lake loop trails Sunday morning in the sprinkles.  Parked at the Larson Lake lot and did a messy out and back around Phantom Lake and back.  Parking is free and relatively plentiful at both Larson and Phantom lake lots.  Full restrooms were open at both lots as well.  No blocking issues - all the recent tree damage is cleaned up and while there are a few squishy/muddy spots none cause any problems with the best news being Larson Lake is not flooding any of the trail currently as it can in winter.

Quite a bit of wildlife out, several different ducks, (mallard, shoveler, gadwall, bufflehead, etc) plus a couple hawks of some kind (couldn’t tell), one big juvenile bald eagle in a tree by Phantom lake and then a pair of adults seemingly playing with each other way up in the sky circling and darting this way and that.  Views of the lakes are quite nice now with the bright red dogwood and bright yellow willow tree bark being quite vibrant.  The trail to Phantom Lake runs right past the Bellevue Urban Garden,  https://tbuggarden.com/ and looked like a group was already starting their 2025 plans this morning.  A neat little leg stretch if you are in the area.

As the main page states, there are not too many views of the lake on this loop. The best view is near the parking area.

There are two parks that along the loop.  Weowna Park has many woodsy trails.

Don't be fooled; this "hike" is little more than a walk around the block with two glimpses of the lake from separate vantage points. From the description, I was expecting short walks along some roads with trails meandering into wooded areas, but in reality, the loop is a square of four connecting neighborhood streets. Perhaps the most interesting parts were the people-watching and the actual designated park area (which was very small.) If you are in the area and looking for a lunch spot, the park where you are directed to park your car is not a bad place. But if you're looking for a nature fix, there are much better walks nearby (Bellevue botanic gardens being one off the top of my head.)

The two views I had of the lake were pretty, but I would've been better served to go to Green Lake.
