Forest road passable by all vehicles however riddled with potholes. Parking lot in good condition, toilet closed/locked. My group arrived around 0900, there were around 5 or 6 cars already parked which I presumed had well begun their trip. This seemed to be a sweet spot.

We began hiking around 0930 from the upper trailhead. We completed our summit at 1100. On our ascent, we encountered 2 others but it was for the most part completely clear. There was no snow/ice coverage until the summit or just before the summit, and the north peak was completely clear. No traction devices needed. The summit provided great views of Mt. Constance, Mt. Deception, Warrior Peak, and Mt. Mystery. 

On our descent, there were many other people on the trail. By the time we returned around 1200, the parking lot was overflowing and people were parking out on the road. The parking lot is not sufficient for more than 8 cars.

Road had some big potholes and a good amount of downed trees but is passable by any vehicle. Parking lot was full at 11 but with spots available down the road.
Trail was clear of snow all the way to the top, no spikes required.

We arrived to the upper trailhead around 0730 and were the first car, but quickly followed by a few others. The road is in fantastic condition, suitable for any vehicle. Unfortunately, the vault toilet was locked, so come prepared! Lol.

We weren't entirely sure what to expect regarding snow, so we brought spikes and gaiters. 

Snow on the trail didn't really start until 2-2.5 miles in. Once at Camp Windy, the snow got deeper. We decided to keep going without spikes. Once above the trees in the clearing, lots of ice patches popped up, and if you stepped out of the main trail/stomped boot path, you'd post hole. The views were antastic today! A blue bird day, all 5 volcanos were visible, faint outlines of the skyscrapers in Seattle and Bellevue and the snowy peaks of the Buckhorn Wilderness. We pushed on to the summit without spikes, but they would've helped speed up our pace a bit. The last half a mile to the summit had a lot of ice patches that were very slippery. 

The summit was cold and windy, so we didn't stay too long. We donned spikes for the way down. The snow was melting quickly and the packed morning snow was now mashed potatoes, which wasn't pleasant to trudge through. We saw lots of hikers and dogs headed up as we came down.

8.16 miles RT with 3k gain. It took us 4 moving hours, with lots of time to stop at stare at the beautiful views! 

We made a quick lunch stop at Quilbilly's in Quilcene and I would highly reccomend. 

A surprising lack of snow considering the recent deluge, but I'm not going to complain, even if I was sort of hoping for it. Also, a surprising lack of wind at the peak, but again: no complaints on that front whatsoever. Absolute gorgeous day; always glad to get out between the storms.

Arrived at the TH at around 8:30 and was the 2nd car in the lot. No issues with the roads and traffic was surprisingly light, even with the extra hour on the clock. We set off a few minutes later, just as other hikers started to arrive, and ran into the early bird hiker on their way down not long thereafter. We made it to the peak with plenty of time to quietly enjoy it by ourselves before other folks arrived from both directions. Fog obscured most of the views over The Sound while I was up there, but the Olympic interior was stunning (as always) and there was great visibility looking north over the Strait as well. Visited both peaks before doing a bit of a ridge traverse towards the Silver Lake trail but didn't go too far before doubling back and heading down the regular trail saddle; I'm sure it would've probably been fine considering the overall lack of snow, but I figured I should play it safe with the dog in tow, so I did. Saw a few more people who were on their way up while we headed down and the lot was full at the bottom.

Had a beautiful day up at the top. Road and trail were clear the whole way. A few patches of snow here and there, but, to my surprise, no meaningful accumulation. 3 cars in the lot at 8:30 and pretty full when we got down at 12:30.
