Beautiful short hike up to the lake. We started at 4pm on a weekend day and had the entire lake to ourselves. About 1 hour up. The trail was a bit overgrown in a few spots, but very easy to follow. Some Devils Club, but we were fine hiking in shorts. Could swim in lake if you want, clear waters. Very few bugs or mosquitos. We only got a couple bites.

l unfortunately lost my Zlite pad (my dogs sleeping pad) somewhere between the start and first mile. I tried to go back but couldn't find it at night. If you're coming from the Seattle area and find it please text me @ 360-320-6641. As my dog would love to get her sleeping pad back, Thanks!

Trail was great, snowshoes definitely were needed as the snow is deep/powdery in sections.

We hiked this after hiking to Skyline Lake to celebrate Winter Solstice.
We only saw 3 people on the Lanham Lake trail.
It was very peaceful!
Trail was easy to follow through the winter wonderland. In the dense forest it could be difficult to see but the trail was easy to find after looking around.

We didn’t need snowshoes, micro-spikes were sufficient.

There is snow on the trail so either microspikes or snowshoes are recommended.

There are a few trees across the trail, but they are relatively easy to get around.

Be aware Devils Club along the trail, they are dead but they still have their spikes.

No toilet facilities.

Hadn't done this one before, so I gave it a try. You park in the Nordic Center's parking lot, but to find the trailhead walk up the road a bit and look for the trailhead sign on the left.

The trail is only 1 1/2 miles one way, but it is steep and rugged in spots. The middle section follows an old road which is pretty easy.

A lot of the upper portion of the trail, after the road part, is heavily overgrown, a lot of it with devil's club. Not fun when you're wearing shorts and a T-shirt! This trail definitely needs a serious brushing effort.

At the top, the views of the lake and the mountain are limited, and IMO disappointing. There is one small campsite near the lake.

I will probably not hike this trail again. It's not really worth the effort.
