A great trail in the woods if you’re looking for a short and peaceful stroll. Also a great choice for kids and pets. Albeit right next to a car dealership.

Nice peaceful stroll along the creek with my family. Did find a needle with blood in it on the train trestle, and up the creek 200 feet there is a homeless mess with garbage, clothes, shoes, tarps, fireworks and several needles scattered around. Needs to be dealt with!

This was our first time out. Nice peaceful walk. Only saw 2 other groups. Beautiful creek.

The description of the hike is very accurate. I had no problems getting to the trailhead and navigating the trails. There are plenty of spots along the trail to stop and enjoy the creek and salmon ladder.

I worked on this little trail (barely a mile roundtrip) on a WTA crew (plus Capitol Land Trust volunteers) in Sep '16 so decided to see it again, since it is short, scenic and nearby. The trailhead is unmarked but follows a fence on the right to an open field and a little further you'll see the trail head into the woods paralleling the Goldsborough Creek. The creek itself is beautiful but the salmon ladders are my favorite feature. There's a good write up of this little preserve here: https://capitollandtrust.org/conserved-lands/conservation-areas/oakland-bay-goldsborough-creek-watershed/hilburn-preserve/ and i've included 2.5min of video highlights below.
