Quick fun near Lake Wenatchee! We started around 1pm at the first (not campground) trailhead. 4 cars in the lot when we arrived.
Trail is in good shape but there are a good number of logs to step over and 2 to crawl under. Nothing ridiculous and the kids enjoy the added fun but I don’t particularly enjoy the duck/crawl bits 😂
The lake is nice, quite a few spots along the edge to get close to the water. Mosquitoes are definitely out so we didn’t hang out much and kept trekking.
We did the loop so rather than turning around we crossed the logs over the little outlet stream and continued along the lake a few hundred feet. You hit an open area and the trail turns right away from the lake- there’s a large old log that a gap has been cut in and you want to go through that, not continue along the social trails at the lakeshore. This trail is obviously less frequented but no issues. Popping out in the campground you stay to the right and uphill along the road back to the other trailhead.
We enjoyed the loop but there isn’t anything exciting or different that happens along the other trail, just a little more distance. Nice short trail with a pretty lake destination, good for little feet and paws.

Great easy hike but mosquitoes are out and there are several blow downs which you have to go over, under, or around which is causing people to go off trail. Some are difficult if you have kids in hiking backpacks as you cannot duck under them. This trail really needs a log out to prevent further damage from having to go off trail to go around some of them. A few are from last year and never cleared.

Our first time on this trail; although we’ve camped at Lake Wenatchee SP before, we never even knew this was here until I saw it on the WTA map last week, so thank you for that!
Only three other cars in the parking lot when we arrived around 10:00 a.m. Hiked with our three kids aged 9, 7, and 3. The trail is so gentle and short that our youngest hiked the whole way by himself except for a bit of help getting over the blowdowns. There are quite a few (photos attached), and the trail could benefit from someone with a chainsaw. Nothing too difficult though. The lake is lovely! Bugs are out in full force and we didn’t stay as long as we would have liked to. Parking lot was about the same when we left. Beautiful hike!

Great for kids, experiencing an epic alpine lake with minimal effort, packing your tripod for that perfect selfie (saw this), packrafts or SUPs (did this!), a hammock, slackline, I dunno it is just a nice spot only about a mile from the car.
Wonderful Memorial Day stroll up a "new-to-us" hike at a familiar location. Trail was in great shape, possibly one or two logs to step over on the way up but nothing that sticks out. We started at the trailhead parking lot, hiked up to the lake (easy, not much gain, wide trail) and spend a few hours floating around the lake and meeting some fun people who were doing the same.
We continued our hiking loop down to the campground, this trail was much steeper and more technical. Definitely remember at least one sizable log that was across the trail and lots of brush. When we made it to the campground we walked up the road to our car.
My partner would rather go back the way we came next time and avoid the road walking, I prefer not to backtrack whenever I can help it. Choose your own adventure!

Did this wonderful hike with some friends, it's short, little to no elevation gain, and it's final destination we're all great! The hidden lake is wonderful, but still a little chilly (we only got our feet wet).
The road is becomes a little rough about a 3 miles from Lake Whenatchee campground. There's several large puddles and two sections where a small creek overflows onto the road. My friend was able to make it in a Toyota Camry, but take it slow and easy to avoid some of the large puddles and potholes.
There's no map of the trail at the trailhead or the parking lot, so keep that in mind and stay aware of your bearings.
Its a great day hike for those who're camping at Lake Whenatchee and have small children or people who aren't experienced hikers.
