This is a nice little hike with some historical artifacts. Trail conditions were good, with some water on sections of the trail, but nothing that couldn't be avoided. Trilliums were blooming on the hillside. A playful otter gave us a show down at the beach. This would be a good hike for kids.

Always loved this easy hike down to the Sound. Sunny late afternoon hike; mid-sixties temps. The trail was mostly dry; past the paved portion only a few small areas had traces of water trickling over the dirt trail. The remainder was totally dry.
The reward of panoramic views of the Sound, looking over to Anderson Island, McNeill, and Ketron Island was absolute bliss !! Tide was out and wildlife minimal so it was very quiet. No seals where we usually saw them to the south. Spotted what looked to be a small harbor porpoise but was unable to get a good enough view to confirm—it only surfaced twice that we noticed.
An easy walk - saw a handful of families with infants and toddlers; also couples with dogs. The hike back up is low to moderate depending on your physical condition. A real gem tucked away in Dupont!
