Beware of: trail conditions

Visited Leavenworth with family and decided to stretch our legs on trail. Most of the trail was fine to walk across, but there were a few areas impassable (without getting wet) due to flooding or big puddles.

Otherwise the trail was lovely, the bridges were fun and it was nice to see the good people of Washington out walking.

Did a relaxing walk-through tour of Blackbird Island today!  There were a couple patches of snow, but nothing that causes any problems.  The weather was a bit cloudy, but we got to see and hear SO many different types of birds!  What a beautiful and enjoyable walk after exploring Leavenworth : )

Walked the BlackBird Island trail today with my daughter, what a beautiful day. The sky was so blue with the sun shinning bright and the beauty of the mountains in the distance. This trail is a very easy trail on level ground, but there is quite a bit of snow in the park and along the paths right now, which can be slippery if your not paying attention. Not many people in the park today, so it was quite peaceful.

Took a short walk around Blackbird Island on a weekend away in Leavenworth. It was really cold but the snow was crunchy and compact - my partner and I were in regular walking boots (not hiking boots) and did fine, though we saw people in microspikes and in tennis shoes *shrug*

The interp signs are a nice enhancement to the hike and we even saw two osprey fighting and some beaver sign!! Super exciting.

I think we did maybe 1.5 mile of wandering; intersections are not signed but its such a small park that if you are dressed warm you can wander a bit.
